Mid-Term Activity:
Use this graphic of the 12 steps to Social Media Success and restate/answer the questions/Identify/expound on each step in your own words as they apply to your social media marketing campaign in a word doc and send that doc (named as yourlastname01.doc) to me via messaging at the end of the class today.
You may use blackboard activities, class notes, and our course book (NOT Google) to complete this midterm activity. Be sure to include all the who, what, where, when and whys for each step, to the best of your knowledge . . . which means that your reinterpretations will need to be longer than one sentence and at the minimum of one paragraph. (MLA standard is 3-5 or more sentences)
Step 1: RESERCH and know your target audience:
(For example: Disc Jockey):
Baby Boomers: 60’s: Have music from the Big Band Era
Generation X: 40’s to 50’s: Same music as Baby Boomers but have more traditional music such as Twist, Chicken Dance, Bunny Hop, Hokey Pokey, etc.
Generation Y (Millennials): 20’s 30’s: Play songs like The Electric Slide, Macarena, Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, etc.
Generation Z: 10 – Teens: Same as Generation Y, but have more Top 40 and updated music and dances like “The Cupid Shuffle.”
Step 2: ONLY CHOOSE to utilize the networks:
Facebook: Have your DJ Name/Logo with all your information as your main page.
Twitter: Same as Facebook, but have your information expanded and invite people to tweet and compliment about your services, especially past clients who has hired you in the past. The more talk and tweets you have, the more people will see who you are and will want to hire you as their Entertainer/DJ.
“These are the main social networks that people today use.”
Step 3: STATE YOUR KEY performance indicators:
The key is to expand/promote your business or on a subject that you care deeply about such as music/DJ.

Step 4: WRITE a social media playbook:
Have information about the Disc Jockey Business, talk about parties/events you played in the past and different clients you worked for, along with their input as well of how you did.
Step 5: ALIGN the members of your company around your plan:
When it is just you on the company, tell people that you are the main owner and promoter.
Step 6: TAKE 30 TO 60 MINUTES at the beginning of each week:
To schedule tweets and posts of your Entertainment Business.
Step 7: CREATE a content bank using a spreadsheet:
Show people your inventory list of all your equipment/lighting and list of CDs you have available for the event.
Step 8: POST relevant content relating to newsworthy topics:
Post important information about your business such as new location and phone number where you can be reached in the future.
Step 9: TREAT ALL social channels separately:
When you have social channels such as Facebook and Twitter, let that be your main social network to target.
Step 10: ASSIGN SOMEONE to act as a customer service rep:
When it is just you in the company, make sure that you have all the information and answers to the best of your knowledge that people would question about your business.
Step 11: SCHEDULE REPORTING! :
Begin to report any new information pertaining to the Disc Jockey Business such as new prices, any changes in the deposits that needs to be included in the DJ Contract.
Step 12: REANALYZE your plan on a regular basis:
If the goals are not met, come up with a better strategy for your business such as new lower prices for certain events for a limited time such as book an event 6 months early and receive a lower rate compared to booking the event at the last minute and have to pay $50.00 to $100.00 more on the event and charge like $50.00 per hour instead of what other disc jockeys charge like over $150.00 per hour.
